It feels like we just wrote one of these – time sure flies! So here is our news:

At the beginning of the year Kevin needed to go to the UK for a conference, and his boss told him to take Meg with him and take some extra time to enjoy it! We had a wonderful 10 days in Wales, Bath and London. Castles, cathedrals, ancient roman ruins, the Tower of London, romantic Bed and Breakfasts and falling in love all over again. We loved every moment of the trip and still think about it every day. Thank you everyone that cared for our girls!

During the summer, he had to go to Salt Lake to train some customers, and this time the boss let him take the whole family. We went to the Zoo and the Aquarium and loved every minute of it. The Bird Show was the highlight of the trip, with birds flying inches above the audience. The eagle that got tangled in the hair of the woman right behind us was especially exciting.

Needless to say, Kevin loves working at SciTools and is pretty sure he has the best boss anywhere. They are in the process of moving buildings and he is enjoying himself by coordinating all of the technical aspects of the move. He has been with them for 5 and a half years now and can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Meg has spent the last few years struggling with horrible migraines almost everyday. After visiting many doctors and trying many different things, chiropractic adjustments and deep tissue massage seems to have corrected what drugs and diet changes could not. She has spent the last 3 months almost headache free, hooray! She is now happily pursuing furniture refinishing as a hobby, and the rest of the family is anxious to see how she will transform the dining room table into a work of art. She is also enjoying having two babies still at home and loves being a stay at home mom (most of the time).

Natalyn (10) is still devouring any book she can get her hands on. Percy Jackson and Harry Potter are still her favorites though. She takes her job as big sister seriously and is a wonderful helper.

Katie (8) was excited to be baptized by her daddy in May and is turning into quite a math whiz. She really enjoys working with numbers and looks for math problems in the world around her. She is also a cuddle-bug and gives the best hugs, if you can pull her away from the tv.

Alaina (6) has picked up Natalyn’s love for reading and likes to read anything around her. She is loaded with energy and is constantly climbing the walls – literally. We put a rock wall in our basement last year and she spends much of her time at the top of it.

Whitney (4) is still suffering from the terrible threes, but we are starting to think that she is almost over it. Lately we are starting to see her sweet side come out more, and she has dropped to less than a dozen tantrums a day. She likes to sing her ABCs and really wants to go to school with her sisters.

Shae (almost 2) is the baby of the family and loves taking advantage of it. She likes to sit at the stairs and wait for a ride from the next passing person, even though she can do it just fine herself. She is starting to talk and loves everyone in the family.

Chloe (1) is the newest addition to our family. She had some medical complications her first weeks with us, but those have all been resolved and the girls love playing with her. She is a good cat. Gotcha!

The four oldest girls started dance this year, and performed in the St George Dicken’s festival last week. They love dancing and can’t wait for classes to resume again in the summer. They will also be performing in their school’s annual production of The First African Christmas this week.
